The Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer provides oversight and responsibility for programs and activities at UCF that fulfill the requirements for an effective compliance, ethics, and risk program as required by Chapter 8 of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines and Board of Governors Regulation 4.003. This position routinely communicates to the president, Board of Trustees Audit and Compliance Committee, and senior leadership on the program's activities and effectiveness and makes necessary modifications to the program in response to noncompliance or unethical conduct. Job Responsibilities: Oversee the university's compliance, ethics, and risk program and ensure that the program is reasonably designed to optimize its effectiveness in preventing or detecting noncompliance, unethical behavior, and criminal conduct. Oversee and ensure a program which supports mitigation of risks to the university and its employees and provides safe harbor in the event of misconduct or noncompliance. Provide direct supervision of the University Compliance, Ethics, and Risk Office and the Athletics Compliance Office; Ensure that staff maintain appropriate certifications and are appropriately trained. Perform assessments of the program and make appropriate changes and improvements. Routinely communicate to the Board of Trustees Audit and Compliance Committee and the president on the effectiveness of the compliance and ethics program. Develop and update the Compliance and Ethics Program Plan and ensure its implementation. Provide leadership and oversight in the development of effective lines of communication. Ensure training and education is provided to the UCF community. Chair and staff the University Policies and Procedures Committee and ensure appropriate revision, development, and communication of policies and procedures. Provide guidance and ensure that standards are enforced and promoted through appropriate incentives and disciplinary guidelines and assist the university in its responsibility to use reasonable efforts to exclude within the university and its affiliated organizations individuals whom it knew or should have known through the exercise of due diligence to have engaged in conduct not consistent with the program. Administer the UCF Integrity Line and ensure communication to the UCF community on the responsibility to report misconduct and noncompliance, the avenues for reporting, and protection from retaliation. Provide oversight, guidance, and coordination of effective internal monitoring, investigations, and compliance reviews. Provide oversight and guidance on the effective response to detected problems and provide recommendations for corrective action as appropriate. Identify and provide oversight and coordination of compliance partners responsible for compliance and ethics related activities across campus and provide communication, training and guidance on the program and compliance and ethics related matters. Provide oversight and coordination of external inquiries into compliance with federal and state laws and take appropriate steps to ensure safe harbor for university in instances of non-compliance or misconduct. Coordinate or request compliance activity information or assistance necessary from any university, federal, state, or local government entities. Position #:36576 Open Date:02/16/2018 Closing Date:Open until filled Salary:$150,000 to Negotiable Minimum Qualifications: Master's or doctorate degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of appropriate experience.
