Manager, Sustainability
We are seeking an individual for a Regular position as a Manager, Sustainability in the Sustainability Division.
Manager, Sustainability : Job Purpose:
Responsible for providing leadership, guidance, direction, and supervision of Conservation staff to ensure successful planning and implementation of sustainability programs and corporate sustainability for OUC. Evaluate, monitor, and track performance of existing initiatives in place. Provide leadership and coordinate with multiple departments within OUC as well as external stakeholders, outside agencies, and vendors on conservation and customer sustainability programs. Effectively manage staff to complete all aspects of assigned projects and programs.
Manager, Sustainability : Primary Functions:
Provide management, guidance, direction, and oversight to staff on daily activities and on multiple conservation projects and customer sustainability programs to meet OUC, regulatory, and/or community goals. Provide performance evaluations, develop staff including goal setting for staff, and perform other supervisory related activities;
Serve as manager and decision maker for new projects and customer programs from conception, business plan development, senior management approval, implementation and testing and post program evaluation. This includes interfacing with multiple business units;
Develop and implement the annual strategic plan objectives for conservation and corporate sustainability. Be responsible and accountable for attaining goals set in these plans. Develop, implement, and monitor budgets for such plans and ensure resources allocated are sufficient to meet desired goals;
Provide guidance and strategic vision to senior management in setting and meeting short, mid and long:term goals related to alternative fuels, customer focused renewable programs, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction and demand:side management programs. Participate in evaluating and prioritizing projects based on Strategic Plan goals, resource availability, and budget;
Communicate OUCs sustainable efforts through speaking engagements, conference presentations, articles, and other marketing communications;
Lead project technical and financial performance reviews for assigned projects in accordance with division financial and quality assurance guidelines;
Understand state and federal bills as related to energy efficiency programs as required and make recommendations for action;
Perform on:going industry research and analysis to ensure OUC is cognizant of key trends in sustainability markets and of grant opportunities. Provide oversight on grant application process, administration activities and reporting;
Collect and distribute program measurement and verification data to appropriate business units to validate progress toward meeting OUCs goals for Conservation;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Manager, Sustainability : Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant utility experience, working with energy project development, power and/or environmental contracts, or policies, etc. and
Minimum of three (3) years of managerial/ supervisory experience
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is required within one (1) year of hire
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is required within two (2) years of hire
Valid Drivers License
Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
Project schedules and Gantt Charts;
Energy benchmarking and modeling software (i.e., Energy Star, ES Portfolio Manager, Summit, Wrightsoft HVAC, etc.);
Interpreting key performance indicators (i.e., rebates, behavioral, etc.);
Familiarity with all, but not limited to the following:
Software Applicat
