This advertisement is for a career service position located at Lake Correctional Institution in Clermont, Florida.
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH THE FOLLOWING:
:Knowledge of working office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
:Microsoft Office Experience
:Data entry experience
:Experience working in law enforcement setting
:High school diploma
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
:Assists with all aspects of the formal grievance process. Assigns grievance number and classifies. Types response, obtains signatures and distributes within time limit. Maintains log of all formal grievances.
:Provides advanced secretarial services in preparation of official correspondence and departmental documentation. Takes and transcribes minutes of various meetings. Types and proof reads daily correspondence. Maintains appropriate files and records. Acts as office receptionist. Receives and distributes mail orders office supplies. Inputs various monthly reports.
:Performs general office duties for the Institutional Inspector and Sergeant assigned to the Inspectors Office as needed.
:Performs Staff Assistants duties in his/her absence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
:Knowledge of standard business formats and styles for letters and business forms.
:Knowledge of office procedures.
:Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation and grammar usage.
:Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
:Knowledge of basic filing practices.
:Knowledge of the techniques for handling telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
:Skills in typing.
:Ability to organize files and other records.
:Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
:Ability to use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
:Ability to type letters, memoranda and other standard business forms in correct format.
:Ability to operate general office equipment.
:Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner.
:Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
:Ability to communicate effectively.
:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
