Job Description
Your Role with the Company:
You would be charged with leading the accounting and finance for a multi:division specialty firm. x200B; Youll manage and continue building the accounting and finance team, and youll be putting in policies and procedures to take the firm to the next level. x200B; A critical part of the position is communication to/ x200B;with the project leaders and team to drive profitability. x200B; The new Assistant Controller will improve relationships and reporting between operations and senior management to ensure all steps have been taken to monitor and manage the financial performance of large jobs in a proactive manner. x200B; Key objectives will focus on process improvement, using the existing systems to their fullest advantage, operations accountability and mentoring the accounting and finance team. x200B;
Background Profile:
:Construction and Engineering industry experience required
:Strong understanding of job analysis
:Strong understanding of bonding requirements and procedures
:Strong understanding of insurance requirements and procedures
:Experience with revenues of a higher size firm
:Team builder, positive motivator, financial leader
:Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Responsibilities:
:Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports, profit and loss forecasts vs. budget and cash flow forecasts.
:Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.
:Interact with other managers to provide accurate and complete cash flow analyses.
:Organize and provide timely and accurate information to the outside auditing firm during annual audit and tax returns.
:Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas.
:Must have extensive work in progress skills
:Must have good managerial skills
:Process semi:monthly payroll, using applicable payroll practices in a multi:state environment.
:Assisting with administration of company 401K Plan
:Assist with Health Insurance administration
:Establish and implement short and long term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
:Monitor banking activities of all organizations.
:Oversee HR, AP, AR, payroll, 401k plan.
Qualifications:
:Minimum 5 years Accounting Experience
:Experience with lien laws
:Knowledge of subcontractor agreements
